Shutterbug

Terms

Last updated 20 September 2026.

These are the terms for using Shutterbug, run by Hypership Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland (NI736697) at Aisling House, 50 Stranmillis Embankment, Belfast, BT9 5FL. Using the service means you accept them. Questions go to human@hypership.tech.

What the service is

Shutterbug captures bug reports from inside a logged-in app, with the context attached, and puts them on a board your team and your reporters can work. There is a widget you embed, a console you sign in to, and an MCP server your agent connects to.

It is early software. Features move, and some of what is described in the docs is newer than the last thing you tested.

Your account

One person owns a workspace and is responsible for what happens in it. Keep your sign-in to yourself. Your project secret is shown once, at creation or rotation — if you lose it, rotate it; we cannot show it to you again. If you think someone else has it, rotate it and tell us.

You are responsible for the app you install the widget in: for telling the people who use it that reports carry a screenshot and page context, for configuring masks over anything sensitive, and for having the right to send us what your app sends.

What you may not do

Do not use Shutterbug to capture data you have no right to capture, to break into anything, to send us malware, or to work around the limits of your plan. Do not resell the service as your own without asking us first. Do not hammer the API hard enough to degrade it for other people.

We can suspend a workspace that is doing one of these, and we will tell you why.

Your data

Your reports are yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run the service — to show them on the board, to triage them with a model, and to send them where you have asked them to go. Nothing more.

We do not sell your data and we do not train models on it. The privacy page says what is collected, how long it is kept and who processes it.

You can export or delete your data at any time. If you close your workspace we delete it.

Plans and payment

The free tier is free and is meant to stay that way for a developer working on their own. Paid plans are charged in advance for the period you pick. If we change a price, we tell you before it applies to you, and you can leave instead.

Availability

We try to keep it up and we do not promise a percentage. There is no service level agreement yet. We may take it down for maintenance and will avoid doing that at stupid hours where we can.

Ending it

You can stop using Shutterbug whenever you like, and close your workspace from settings. We can end your access if you break these terms, or with reasonable notice if we stop offering the service — in which case you get time to export.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.

Changes

If these change, the date at the top moves and we tell account holders by email when the change matters.
